ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ADVISORY BOARD
Purpose: Advisory to the Board of Commissioners; assists Economic
Development Department in developing and carrying out an effective economic
development program; works to attract new industries, lend support and encouragement
to existing industries, assist in agricultural development, strive to encourage
commercial development and lend assistance to both new and existing businesses
Authority:
Membership: 15 members: 3 citizens from the community, 6
industry/business, 2 education, 2 municipal, 1
Chamber, 1 economic development director.
Members serve a 3-year term (staggered), 2-term limit (after any partial
term is complete, or extended if a waiver of the 2-term limit has been granted);
terms expire in February. The chairman is
appointed annually by the Board of Commissioners.
