JUVENILE CRIME PREVENTION COUNCIL
Purpose: Develops community-based delinquency and
substance-abuse prevention strategies and programs; ensures that appropriate
community-based intermediate dispositions for adjudicated juveniles are
available
Authority: - Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 1998

Membership: Up to 25 members appointed by the BOC; composed of certain
qualified people, and up to 7 members from the community-at-large. Members serve a 2-year term (staggered), no
term limit; terms expire in June. The
chairman and vice chairman are elected annually by the council membership.
