LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Purpose: Advisory to the Board of Commissioners; formulates programs, policies and regulations for the library; makes annual report to BOC

Authority: - NCGS 153A-265 and -266

- County Ordinance establishing the public library (06/28/82)

- Bylaws (01/21/86)

Membership: 6 member board, all citizens-at-large. Members serve a 3-year term (staggered), 2-term limit (after any partial term is complete, or extended if a waiver of the 2-term limit has been granted); terms expire in July. The chairman is elected annually by the board membership.

The Library Foundation meets at 3:30pm followed immediately by the Board of Trustees.
