BIOGRAPHY
Sheila Cozart has served in Transylvania County government for 25 years beginning in 1991. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Appalachian State University. She is a lifelong resident of Transylvania County. She and her husband Robert live in Brevard where they raised two sons together and they have 2 beautiful grandchildren.

Q: What are your job duties for Transylvania County?
I am responsible for all areas of human resource management at Transylvania County, ranging from recruitment to selection to retention and benefits administration. I also spend much of my time working on employee relations, working with employees and supervisors to make sure that the work environment at the county is harmonious and efficient.
Q: What makes Transylvania County so special to you?
Having been raised in Transylvania County, it’s really the best place to have ever been from. I enjoy the opportunity to live in this community and be close to all of my friends and family.
Q: In which ways do you hope to improve Transylvania County?
I am not sure, because how do you improve on something so wonderful?
Q: Do you have any favorite things that you like to do in Transylvania County?
I love being involved in my church, I love spending time with my very large family. I am an arts and crafts person and a shag dancing aficionado. My husband and I enjoy the going to performances at the Brevard Music Center and Brevard College.
