N.C.G.S. § 160A-280 allows a county government to donate to another governmental unit or nonprofit entity, any personal property that the governing board deems to be surplus, obsolete or unused, following the posting of a public notice for at least five days prior to the adoption of a resolution approving the donation.
The Transylvania County Board of Commissioners intends to donate a surplus inflatable slide to Young Life Transylvania County. The item was not sold during a recent surplus auction of personal property. The Board of Commissioners intends to approve the donation by resolution at its next meeting on April 13, 2026.
