INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS

Since 2022, Transylvania County Government has secured over $20,000,000 in grant funds to support water and sewer infrastructure including federal, state and private grant dollars.  The county funds are for commissioners to invest in infrastructure projects that are then gifted to the Town and City because the County does not operate a water and sewer system, but those systems are important for the economic health of the county.   To date, the City of Brevard has been gifted or allocated a total of $4.5 million in county grant funds and the Town of Rosman has been gifted or allocated a total of $6.6 million.  These funds are in addition to the $10,000,000 the Town of Rosman and $13,000,000 the City of Brevard received from the state due to combined County, Town and City advocacy.   Both the Town and the City have been awarded additional funds at approximately $5,000,000 each for infrastructure announced in 2026. That's $53,000,000 in grant funds from outside Transylvania County to support water and sewer secured in three years.   The City has been able to prioritize and allocate $18 million in funds at their discretion and the Town has been able to prioritize $15 million to meet Town priorities from the grant funds they have received directly.  County commissioners have prioritized strategic investments such as securing high quality water access with a water study, emergency water interconnect, designing the Azelea/Rhododendron Sewer Extension Project in Brevard and extending water and sewer down US 64 from Rosman to Gaia Herbs among others (see links below). This page is dedicated to sharing information on the projects being funded for the Town and City water and sewer systems by Transylvania County.  Check back for additional information coming soon!
