The Planning Board is currently updating the Transylvania County Sign Control Ordinance and the Scenic Corridor Ordinance during their public meetings - interested parties are encouraged to attend. Any changes to these ordinances will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners for adoption after a public hearing.
The Planning Board
The Transylvania County Planning Board is an advisory board consisting of seven members appointed by the County Commissioners who are responsible to:
- manage land-use ordinances by drafting or updating and presenting to the County Commissioners for adoption
- develop the county's 2025 Comprehensive Plan to present to the County Commissioners for adoption
This board meets from 7-9 pm in the Transylvania County Community Services Building Conference Room at 106 East Morgan Street, every third Thursday of a month and the public is encouraged to attend and participate.
